Fee: $35.00

In this class you can choose to make a table runner, a small wall quilt or a wall hanging.  All three are included in the pattern, and are made
using the Studio 180 Design Rapid Fire Petite Hunter’s Star tool.  It’s a quick and easy way to make a hunter’s star block using strip pieced
construction, which means no “Y” seams.  Pick out a border print and then some coordinating fabrics and create any or all of these pieces.
This class is great for all levels of quilters from beginners to experts.  Come and spend the day with Debbie who is a Certified Studio 180 Design Instructor and learn this great tool.

This is the new Judy Niemeyer Certified Shop pattern for 2015.  You can only purchase it through a Certified Shop or a Certified Instructor, and with Mt. Pleasant being a Certified Shop, and Barb being a Certified Instructor- you’re covered- you can purchase it here.  This is a Technique of the Month (TOM) pattern.  Just like it says: you learn one technique a month.  Everyone will find success and you will end up with a completed
78” x 78” wall quilt or add extensions for a 98” x 98” quilt.  I’m really excited about this pattern. Many of you have already seen the quilt hanging in the shop.  Mary Lou and I went to Montana this past September to sew the quilt (wallhanging size) under Judy’s tutelage as the pattern had not gone to print at that time. (Maybe we were guinea pigs?...but anyway… our quilt hung at Quilt Market in Houston and just got back from a tour in Australia with Judy -(the quilt-not me-darn it!)  The quilt is named so appropriately -  beautiful Birds of Paradise flowers are in this quilt.  You will learn Judy Niemeyer’s paper piecing techniques, and her method of applique.  I had only been a straight stitch edge machine applique gal before I went out, but came back with a new enthusiasm and love for machine applique.  I would like to impart this same excitement to you. You DO NOT have to have made a Judy Niemeyer pattern to take this class. (My next one will be the queen size.) Kits available

The “Geese Migration” book is soon to be released by Judy Niemeyer.  About a year ago, if you recall, JN Certified Shops were invited to design a quilt using several of Judy’s foundation paper pieced components.  I chose to design a quilt, therefore my quilt is in the book. (How else would I ever get published?) So, I thought it would be great if you could design your own special quilt using some of the paper pieced components that are available to choose from.  You would be designing your own layout, your size and we would help you choose your colors if you wanted us to.  Don’t want to design your own quilt, but want to make a quilt from the book? This class is still for you. There are 29 quilts to choose from.  I think its a win-win situation.  Want to design your own - or want to make one from the book?  Both decisions are winners!  The book will be discounted.
No experience necessary in paper piecing!
